Dance
As a dancer Jacob Cino has trained primarily in Contact improvisation. He has studied with Peter Bingham and Edam Dance (www.edamdance.org) since 1999. He apprenticed with Peter's company in the remount of his piece "Born Naked, Died Blond"(2005). His love for dance has brought him to contact jams around the world and to hosting classes at festivals and raves. |
Jacob performed with (2004,2006) Martha Carter's IDUB (Interactive Digital Urban Ballet) where his skills as a Beat Boxer, DJ, Producer, Rapper and Dancer where all showcased in this interdisciplinary multi dance style piece. Jacob also performed as a dancer in Martha Carters (www.houseofpride.com)
"The Spell Remains", which is an exploration of club music with modern dance influences.

Since 2001 he has worked with Jennifer Mascal (www.mascalldance.ca/nijinsky.htm) in the piece "Houswerk" improvising DJ sets to modern dance. Mixing disciplines he performed at Dance en Vol in Brussels Belgium as a DJ mixing originals to the movement on stage, and dancing the choreography of Daeilik's 2003 piece " Body Building". Jacob Also did sound design for Peter Bingham 2004 remount of "Slip". Martha Carters dance piece "IDUB" (2004,2006) and "The Spell Remains" (2005) also employed Cino's composition. Other recent Sound design for Dance includes choreographer Amber Funk, "5 solos later" (2005)
